AVG blocking many safe websites because "the server certificate has expired."

I've been facing a similar issue on my site (https://www.thenewsinsides.com), and it's been a bit of a puzzle. It seems like AVG is suddenly flagging valid websites for expired certificates. I'm using Chrome on Windows 7 too. Have you found any fix for this yet? Adding exceptions manually is getting old real fast! Let me know if you stumble upon a solution, and I'll do the same. Thanks!

it could also be related to a recent update or change in AVG’s settings. To fix it, try updating AVG to the latest version, as this might resolve the certificate issues. You could also check for any browser or system updates. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to AVG support for more detailed help.

Thanks & Regards

David

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello, for a couple weeks now AVG has been blocking several safe websites saying that their server certificates have expired.  Before that I had never seen AVG pop up any messages like that but now it happens repeatedly and I have to add in manually those websites as exceptions. I am accessing the internet through Chrome on Windows 7.  Can you tell me why this is started occurring just a couple weeks ago and how to stop it without constantly manually entering exceptions in for those websites?
Thank you

The sudden pop-ups about expired server certificates can be a headache. It could be due to an AVG update or a change in their security protocols. To ease this, try updating AVG to the latest version or adjusting its settings to see if the issue persists. If the problem lingers, reaching out to AVG support might shed some light on why it's happening and how to resolve it without the constant exception entries. Hope that helps, and good luck!

I do see that it says that to update to the latest version of antivirus free I need to first update my Windows operating system.  Is there a newer version of the AVG antivirus program that I can update to on my Windows 7 Operating System as I don't know if I can update to Windows 10 on this laptop?
