AVG blocking my provider site to get emails

Since 1st APRIL 2017 Email will down load first try in a day - after a minute all functions within the email stop 'Unknown error' and 'cannot reach server' The 'Web Tune up' is also inactive (Paid for) 
I have AVG Ultimate, installed by an AVG technician by remote access. I have put up with all the diagnostics & working with the provider to prove it is an AVG problem. IF we take down the AVG firewall the emails work fine, BUT I am not protected. AVG have worked on my machine remotely through 4 expert technicians on several attempts - who have been unable to fix this including the developers - I have sent the error log files several times now - I will need a complete refund of my money as obviously AVG cannot fix this & I need to install something else. I am using a borrowed laptop, my cell phone and a tablet to access my emails NONE of these has AVG installed.
