6 April - We made contact withTech Support - again having them see the problem & trying the same things, again by remote, finally the message was "This is escalated to the Developers" - Also my entire operating system was copied 'to enable analysis' which did not make me feel comfortable at all. We do not have any indication of just how long this is going to take, OR why this has happened.
Again the only way out would seem to be to remove AVG & install another product.
This is very inconvenient to have to use borrowed machines, mine is the only one affected & is the only one covered by AVG. Pleasefollow this up without delay.
I had AVG Ultimate installed by AVG techs (at my cost) in late March 2017. All was working well. My provider in NZ recently changed 'vehicles' from Yahoo, due to security issues, to their own. The migration was seamless & all was working well - then the message 'Site cannot be reached' - several days of chasing down the supplier & the system pointed only to AVG - I can access my emails from any other machine or my cell phone - NONE of which have AVG on them (and will not) we had the AVG techs work on the machine remotely for over 2.5 hours mainly repeating all of the checks we made - we demonstrated the problem & a change was made to the firewall - success! except the 'Web Tune Up' was de-activated. We were told to wait a few days & this element would return. Frustratingly the fault has returned AND the Web Tune Up is still not active. The only way out would seem to be to remove any trace of AVG 'protection' and install another product.
