AVG blocking Outlook synch to Gmail

Colin,

Sorry for the trouble. Make sure that your network profile is under Private. It's necessary to change the firewall basics after an update.

Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu at the top right -> Settings -> Components -> Enhanced firewall -> Customize -> System rules -> make sure all the task has been enabled.

Again, Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> change all the profiles from public to Private. If the issue persists, go to Components -> Antispam/ Email Protection -> uninstall and reinstall it.

I currently have this problem with W10 and Outlook 2016. I have current version of AVG Internet Security (200304-0) but does not include Components in settings. I note that under General Behaviour Shield is the only item not turned on. Would this help? Allan

Windows10 system.  Since last AVG software update (17.9.3040?) a few days ago, I am unable to synch Outlook (Office 2013) to my Gmail account (IMAP).  'Code 800CCC0E - unable to connect to server'.  If I go into Email Shield and switch off 'Scan inbound mail (POP3, IMAP4) then everything is hunky-dory. Unfortunately, this defeats the purpose of having an email scanner!   Is there any way to let the inbound mail from Gmail to be scanned but let it through to Outlook?
