Did you turn off AVG Secure VPN and verify the status? Please try to connect to a different VPN server locations (Gotham, Miami, New York, Seattle, Wonderland) and check if you are able to access Bit Torrent.

AVG is blocking my BitTorrent. I have to stop AVG to download torrents-which defeats the purpose of AVG-This is an intermittent problem, sometimes I can resolve it by restarting my Laptop but sometimes it doesn't. Can anyone help? Thanks, James.
