AVG blocking site used daily

Hello Charles,
You've reached the AVG community support forum.
We are sorry to hear about the threat pop up issue. Please make sure that your AVG Antivirus free or Internet Security application is updated to latest version. To do that follow the below article :

After updating the application, please check, if the issue persists with threat pop up. Could you, please let us know is powerlineblog website is trusted ? Are you able to access the same website in different browser ? Additionally, would you be so kind as to share us a few screenshots of the threat pop-ups you're referring to?

Note: Kindly click on "See Details" on the threat pop-up and then share us the screenshot.

Refer to the below article for detailed instructions to capture a screenshot:

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Folks,
We have been trying for days to get a picture of the actual "threat pop-up", to no avail. they all end up being to big to post. Your limit is 1 meg. Even the screen shot was too big. However,  when we tried to post it, to the site, somehow it ended up as my "profile" picture. If you can see that photo, and/or enlarge it a bit, you will see how the "pop-up" looks.
We can access the site on our Ipad with no problem. The site is a very, long-time trusted site. It is secured by "Cloud flare" I think. Again, never a problem until AVG stopped us.
Is there a way to put the site into AVG as one to "let alone, or ignore?"

Lastly, we still can not get our AVG VPN to minimize to the tray, or to close it. We tried the "fix" three times, but it still is "broken".

We would hate to have to go to another virus program.
Thanks

When we try to access a web site, that we have been using for years, all of sudden we have been blocked by an AVG pop-up stating that "Threat secured. We have safely aborted the connection to www.powerlineblog.com because it was infected with HTML: Script-inf [susp]  ".
We called the AVG tech support line and spoke, at length, with a very kind and patient man from your call center. We followed all his directions over the course of over 45 minutes, or so, and thought the problem had been resolved. However as it turned out it has not.
Can anyone there help fix this problem for us?

Thank you for writing us back Charles,
We appreciate your efforts for sending us the information. I understand that your website is getting blocked by AVG. we'd recommend that you submit the detected website for false-positive analysis using this link https://www.avg.com/en-gb/false-positive-file-form#pc. Once you've submitted the false-positive report, our concerned team will analyze the detected website and if found harmless, they'll whitelist it right away. Furthermore, they'll update the status via email.

We are sorry to hear that, you are unable to minimize the AVG Secure VPN window. To resolve the issue, I would request you to repair the AVG Secure VPN and restart your computer. To do that follow the below instructions :

1. Press the windows key and R key at the same time (Windows key + R ).
2. You will get a small "Run" box on your bottom of the screen .
3. In the search bar type "appwiz.cpl",then click on Ok.
4. You will get the uninstall or change a program page.
5. On the list please search for the product name (AVG Secure VPN) and click on it once ,then right click on it.
6. You will get two options and choose only uninstall.
7. In the next page you will see many options and you must click "Repair".
8.After the repair is 100% ,click on done and restart your computer.

Thank you and keep us updated.

Thank you for writing us back Charles,
We appreciate your efforts for sending us the screenshot. To resolve the issue temporarily, you can add the website to exceptions in AVG Internet Security. To do that follow the below article :

Excluding certain websites from scanning in AVG Internet Security

This would be an temporary fix. To fix this issue permanently you can submit website link to the AVG Threat Labs, a group of analysts review the website for malicious or unwanted activity and determine the website is harmful or not and if the website is safe they will whitelist for you. To do this click on the below link.

 Report a suspected false positive
