AVG blocking standard webpage files

Hello Simon,
We regret for the inconvenience caused to you. Please confirm whether you are trial version of AVG in your PC. If so, please follow the instructions to change the Firewall settings to check the status :
Open AVG  -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the networks from Public to Private (If it is in Private, change it to Public).
Thank you.

Ok, so the firewall isn't the cause of the issue, as it is not enabled in AVG free.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to why AVG is blocking these webpage files?

Simon, Yes, Correct.. AVG Firewall isn't part of AVG Free.

Hi,

I am an engineer and the product I am developing has webpage files stored in it. When the product is running in soft-AP it acts as a server and serves up these files to a client when requested. In the last few weeks there must have been an update to AVG which is now blocking these files from being served to the client when the client is running AVG.

More in-depth analysis has shown that all segments of the file are received, it is only the [FIN, ACK] message from the server which is getting blocked. Without this the file transfer is determined to have failed.

Disabling AVG solves this problem, but this is not an adequate solution to the issue,

Can anyone explain what has changed in the last few weeks that would cause this change in behaviour? The type of files the server is sending are standard webpage files (.css, .js etc.).

Thanks.

Hello Simon,

You can add the weblink to the AVG exceptions so that it will not be blocked by AVG. Please follow the instructions from the below link: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields to add the link to exception and contact us for further help.

Thank you.
