Hello Mike,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
We will check and help you with this issue.
May I know the version of your AVG Internet Security program being installed on your PC please?
(Open AVG Internet Security – Menu – About).
Regrettably, with recent 22.7 & 22.8 Antivirus (Windows) updates, we encounter multiple issues with the Email Shield related to sending/receiving emails via 3rd party email clients (MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird…). The developers are investigating the incorrect behaviors.
Please confirm whether you are unable to send/receive emails in Thunderbird application.
If possible, please share us the screenshot of AVG blocking Thunderbird mails in order to check and help you further.

AVG is blocking my Thunderbird emails. I looked around and see that this has been a problem for some time and is not yet resolved. Can anyone help? As far as I can see, the only way round it is to turn off email/web protection.
Mike , we're sorry to hear that the issue still persists after updating your AVG Internet Security to the latest version.
To further investigate this issue, we've sent you an email with detailed instructions to contact our additional support.
Please check your inbox/spam folders to find the email and use it to contact them at your convenient time.
Rather weirdly, today everything seems to working fine with email/web protection turned on. I will see how it goes for a while and will come back if the problem re-appears. Thanks for your help so far…
Thanks for your reply.
AVG Version 22.9.3254 (build 22.9.7554.439)
With email/web protection turned on, I can send emails from Thunderbird, but cannot receive them. As soon as I turn off protection, it all works fine.
There is no screenshot to send. No messages come up, I just do not get incoming emails.
Thanks, Mike
