AVG blocks chrome and edge

I have been using AVG Internet security for years. I am running windows 10/11 AVG updated and now I cannot use Chrome or MS edge. I have uninstalled AVG IS and everything works fine. I have downloaded and reinstalled it as per instructions on the AVG site and once I reboot the laptop after AVG has run its first full scan, neither chrome nor edge can access the internet. Windows says to check the firewall.  Any sugggestions
