I am also having this problem of AVG blocking my mobile phone hotspot WiFi connection. And all your suggestions are too complicated I have ticked enable sharing but it hasn't worked. It is so annoying I feel my only option is to scrap AVG altogether .
Hello.
This solved the problem for some time, but now AvG blocks my hotspot again.
Is there ANY possible way, I can tell AvG to completely igone this connection? Or the IP range or omething similar, ... ?
Hello Akash,
Im happy to see how you're able to get back to your customers. Anyway, after coming back after 5 years with the identical problem (cannot stream hotspot with the vpn), i dont think your last reply was detailed enough. Upon clicking the blue link, it took me to searching in support with multiple options. Do you think you could take me through the steps, please? Im desperate for help figuring this out for a week already. No luck. I would seriously appreciate any of your help. Thank you!
Hello!
I have a problem, AVG Internet Security is blocking my Internet Hotspot.
Details:
I am running a Win 10 Pro 64bit Sony VAIO Laptop with integrated WWAN Modem. This is, how I connect to the internet.
As I have other devices, too (Smartphone, Chromecast, SmartTV), i occasionally use the Windows-integrated Hotspot function on my laptop, to make a WLAN hotspot for these devices.
This always worked with AVG, but about 1 Week ago, AVG started making troubles. As far, as I could trace the problem, AVG is blocking the traffic for the devices connected to the hotspot.
How did I do the troubleshoot:
1) The devices told me, they were connected to the hotspot, but not to the internet.
2) As soon, as i disabled the AVG firewall component, the devices could suddenly connect to the internet.
strange sidenote: sometimes it works, sometimes, it doesnt.
So, what can I do?
The IP range for the hotspot is 192.168.137.1 - 192.168.137.255
