Avg blocks internet & won't uninstall

I have been having trouble with avg for a while. Yesterday I decided to try & fix it. I followed the online instructions to uninstall & reinstall. It did a scan & found no errors.

This morning it dowloaded an update. My problems are now MUCH worse. I cannot acces the internet from my PC where AVG is installed. It is NOT our internet connection as I'm using my ipad with wifi for this & my husband's PC is accessing the internet. I have disabled the firewall and this hasn't helped. I have tried Edge, IE and Firefox.

To make matters much worse, I am unable to uninstall AVG! I just get the message "Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed"
I have waited for an hour & restarted my PC to no avail. I have done this afew times.

I really don't know what to do next!

I think that I mentioned that, 1. I'm unable to uninstall & 2. I can't access the internet on my PC Currently using iPad.
The links you offered as a solution today, was the process that I followed yesyerday whixh have seemed to make matters worse with an upgrade this morning.
I have had to do a System Restore & now have thankfully been able to remove all of AVG software.
