Hi Bala,
This what I get when I click on Buy Now buttons issued by PayPal.
This is affecting my business in a really severe way.
Please address this issue as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Tim
I know how to take screenshots, but you don't know how to code software. PayPal's official site is https, and is unmistakebly authentic. Old AVG never had an issue, but new AVG is garbage and blocks plenty of friendly sites. Sites which have been trusted for years. The last twelve months has seen a steady decline in your product's quality and an erosion of your credibility as a company. You don't understand how people use their computers and instead of catering to your market you demand that the market changes to fit in with your failed attempt to 'upgrade' your flagship product. I found that the best solution to prevent AVG from blocking known trusted sites is to unisntall AVG and never look back.
Useful features like gaming mode and the ability to update signatures from the quick launch menu have vanished, the interface appears to be designed by Rubix, and the users' control over potential threats has diminished. AVG has failed.
So you think the official PayPal site is a phishing scam huh? Thanks to your retarded software I can't pay my bill. Give me one good reason why anybody who has supported AVG for years would even dream of keeping this rubbish installed on their system. AVG is no longer anti-virus software, it's malware.
And don't patronise me with your copy and paste responses, they are belittling.
I too rec'd this same alert today. Please investagate. I'm sure this is a false postitive.
Hello Nunya,
I am sorry to know that you aren't happy with the latest AVG 2017 version.
If you would like to provide feedback about 2017 version, do use this link: http://www.avg.com/product-feedback
The PayPal blocking issue might be due to recent update of AVG.
I request you to update your AVG Antivirus program once and check whether the issue persists.
Dean,
Yes, you are right. This threat is definitely a false positive, our senior team has analyzed the issue and have declared it as a false positive.
We request you to add the PayPal URL to AVG's exception list as a temporary solution, and this issue will be sorted out in the next update.
Please follow the below steps to add the PayPal URL to AVG's exception list:
AVG Antivirus > Menu > Settings > General > Exceptions
You can later remove it from AVG's exception. Please make sure that you have enabled automatic update for your AVG Antivirus/Internet Security program (AVG Antivirus > Menu > Settings > Update).
We appreciate your patience in this matter.
Thanks,
Vishnu Vardan
