Having signed into AVG to improve my protection I am now receiving messages and emails telling me that my security has been compromised through AVG. How does that work??? I pay to get protected and, in fact, the breach comes through AVG systems???

According to the messages and emails they offer me a free six months protection if I click through.

Is this legitimate?

Was I breached by installing AVG to protect myself?

What is this all about???

Why is this breach (if legitimate) not all over the web? It's a scandal.
