Hello Larry,
Thank you for posting in the AVG community forum.
If you've already imported the bookmarks, passwords from your old browser, you can export those to your new PC.
Refer to this https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/96816?hl=en-GB#zippy=%2Cfrom-the-google-toolbar-on-internet-explorer link to export and import your bookmarks.
Unfortunately, we can't copy and paste the files/folders from your old Pc. We suggest you reinstall the programs on your new Pc.
Let us know If you need further help.
Thank you.
Hello all, first time poster. I recently updated my bios on an old AsusP6T mobo last week and seem to have bricked the mobo. Took it in to Canada Computers and they tried everything to get the bios screen to load. Nothing… just a black screen. So now I'm doing an upgrade mobo to ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XIII EXTREME Intel Z590. along with new ram, water cooler etc.
However, Over the past 15yrs I have all my saved bookmarks, passwords, stored on that SSD Windows 64 inside the AVG Browser. I have that SSD now plugged into a spare pc while waiting for the new parts to arrive for the new desktop to build. Also all my games, programs etc as stored on this SSD drive.
What I'm asking today is without the old pc booting up to at least make a backup html file or other backup of these bookmarks and passwords, where and what folder on that SSD can I locate these to copy/paste into the new pc once I get the AVG browser installed? I can see a few locations on the SSD drive with AVG folders, but not sure which one to copy/paste to the new pc. (I'm using my older non gamer pc to access this drive using a docking station for 2.5 and 3.5 drives)
Another question, if at all possible, can I use this SSD drive that still has the OS Win64 with all my intact programs, games and browsers, bookmarks, passwords etc as the boot C drive in the new pc? I know that the sys files will change as it's a newer mobo, sound files (same video card though) or would it be better for a clean install? But if a clean install, how to I access the bookmarks and passwords in my browsers? And not just in the AVG browser. Now on my backup non gaming pc that I'm using to type this in, I have actually managed to copy/paste my user profile for my Thunderbird email accts and have saved those passwords and all my past saved emails.
There must be a AVG folder/s that I can copy paste into the new desktop pc, is there not?
Ok, an update a cpl hours later… I managed to copy/paste entire folders from my old main ssd from the bricked computer to the folders I found by digging around on my non gaming pc to get the AVG browser to show bookmarks and passwords. However, still no passwords. But good news I was able to restore ALL bookmarks from just doing copy/pasting into the proper folders after redownloading the AVG browser onto my non gaming pc. Places I had checked were onder roaming folder, local folder, and basically anything I cam across that had the word AVG as the main folder type.
But still as of 3:45am no passwords.
