AVG build 17.3.3443.0 hangs Windows XP Professional, service pack 3, 32 bit operating system when it is running a "Full Computer Scan." The system hang occurs approximately 40 seconds after the scan reaches the portion labeled "Performance issues." At that point nothing other that a "cold boot" can recover control of the device by reloading the system. AVG build 16.151.8012 works well. Where can I get the install files for that version (build 16.151.8012) and how can I stop that version from updating to version (build 17.3.3443.0).

Dear Yamuna,
Having followed your recommendation “to repair: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY AVG 2017 version once and then try to do the scan.” The result was that the system hung while running a “Full Computer Scan” and, again, required a “cold boot” restart of the hardware to recover control of the operating system, while “Scanning for performance issues…” at “91%” reporting “Outdated Software.” The reason I am still using Windows XP Professional, service pack 3, 32 bit operating system is so that I can continue to operate legacy application software written for that operating system environment which cannot be replaced without spending exorbitant time and financial resources to do so. How then can we configure AVG (build 17.3.3443.0) to function without crashing Windows XP Professional, service pack 3, 32 bit operating system while running “Outdated Software” which is the essential purpose, continuing to support and run that “Outdated Software.” FYI, the “Deep Virus Scan” functions normally and I have also tried uninstalling AVG and then installing “Panda” anti-virus software and it also functions normally. As I have been using AVG for many years, I have come to trust AVG's ability to do what it is supposed to do, stop malware of all kinds effectively, I have no such history with “Panda” anti-virus and thus would prefer to do everything possible to continue to be a “loyal” AVG user. I would appreciate your recommendation as to how to continue.
Thank you,
John F.
