Hello Krav,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. The AVG trial version always works fine and the C drive scan will never corrupt any files. To assist you better, could you please let us know if you scanned your C Drive using the AVG AntiVirus or AVG PC TuneUp program?
Thank you
Hi,
IT turned out the AVG c:/ drive check destroyed my hard drive, what now?
AVG is the crappiest anti-virus of all times. They should be banned from the market. I installed the free 30 day trial, to try it before buying it. It prompted me to do a C: / drive scan, which took hours. After the laptop (Vaio Windows 7) restarted, the screen is empty, nothing on it except for the cursor. Startup repair by pressing F8 isn't working either. I contacted support, they didn't even help, said they don't assist the free trial clients, way to gain customers. I asked for a link at least that redirects me to the solution of the problem, they didn't even do that. If the product is so trashy , why even offer a free trial? Nobody will buy it anyways after that experience . I read afterwards that many people have that problem. I'mean gonna make sure this gets known and spread so people stop buying this crap
Hi,
Thanks for your prompt reply, I appreciate that.
I initially downloaded the AVG free Antivirus 30 day trial, after this programme performed the virus scan a window pop up suggested I perform a C:/ drive scan, so I did, and now I only get the blank screen, and neither startup repair nor restore factory settings is working …
I didn't download the AVG PC tune up programme, I am not sure if it came with the 30 day Antivirus trial?
Thanks

Hi krav, Sorry to know that. We would like to know exactly what happens when executing the file from Rescue CD. This file is a auto-run file that should boot up the tower, Let us know if you downloaded the file in a secondary device and tried restarting the affected computer.
Thank you.
