Hi Norma,
Thank you for posting your query in community forum.
We need to know the exact name of the file detected by AVG to check and provide further explanation.
Also, did your PC crashed after deleting the file from quarantine?
I would like to add that the particular installer file might have corrupted when downloading from the internet.
If you could provide more details that the issue is caused by AVG, we will be happy to check and help you further.
I'm putting this to the Community because despite my paying for this product, AVG has no "individual" complaint procedure. A few days ago I was getting the May 2020 Downloads from MS for Win 10. Partway through the latest KB, AVG pounced on an intruding virus [can't remember it; but it looked like an adware - I deleted it from Quarantine before I realised that Windows Installer was damaged. The whole o/s ground to a halt. MS Community thought that AVG might have attacked the Download, but my other pc went ahead with downloads, and this never happened before. Now I have to re-install Win 10, having gone through all of the repair procedures with no luck.
Did AVG inadvertently stop and thereby damage the Installer?
