AVG causing email send/receive errors + "The operation timed out waiting for a response"

Hello Marilyn. Could you please let me know which AVG product are you referring to?

For the past four days, "send/receive" errors are preventing incoming emails (e.g., "The operation timed out waiting for a response").  When I disable the incoming and outgoing AVG "protection," the problem seems to improve.  How can I find out if AVG is taking too long to scan incoming emails and therefore causing "Send/Receive" errors?
