Avinash, that was the first thing I did when the problem first occured. Unfortunately SFC is unable to fix the corrupted file.
AVG is causing issue with the System32/webio.dll and my laptop is unable to browse the internet despite connected. I tried to remove AVG but get an "unexpected error" with error code 0xC00700C1. I've tried different removal tool from AVG but doesn't work. The AVG_Clear tool fails to run due to the same webio.dll error. The AVG_Remover tool only detected and remove the AVG Internet Security but not the AVG Antivirus FREE. And I'm unable to disable AVG from the startup.
Michael,
Sorry, we’d like to understand more about this situation. Are you able to run AVG Clear and remover tool in Safe mode http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-reboot-your-computer-into-Safe-Mode ?
Hi Alok,
As mentioned in my earlier reply, the AVG Clear would launch but soon terminated prematurely due to multiple errors related to System32/webio.dll :
• AVG_Clear.exe - Bad Image
• instup.exe - Bad Image
• Instup.exe - Bad Image
• b86362a5.exe has stopped working

Hello Michael,
I really appreciate your effort in resolving this issue so far.
May I know if you have try to use AVG Clear tool after AVG Remover tool (after removing AVG Internet Security).
If not, then please try one more time to run AVG Clear tool in Normal mode (if it's ask you to reboot your in Safe mode, please click NO).
Keep us informed about the status.
Best regards,
Alok.

Michael,
AVG remover will detect old version of AVG 2016 and below where AVG Clear will identify latest version.
I request you to run AVG remover tool, uninstall AVG Internet Security and restart your device.
Once the old version gets removed, AVG Clear should work. Refer this article:
http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to download and run both tools.
Note: Run Remover until it gives you "Run Anyway" option.
If the issue persists, we can try with alternate solution.
Michael,
I appreciate your efforts. Please try to reboot your PC in safe mode and then connect our remote support team using the email instructions that was sent previously. They will check the issue and assist further.
Hi Avinash,
I believe a remote assistance would not work as the webio.dll issue affects the internet connection.
I just tried to launch TeamViewer and it fails with error related to webio.dll.
Anyway, I will try to set up the remote assistance session later today.
