Windows 11 23H2 / AVG 24.7.9311.860 (Free)
For some time now I have been having issues with the way that AVG handles certificates. Generally speaking, AVG creates a connection with my e-mail program, and another to the mail server. This puts AVG in the middle for protection. However, after a restart of my computer, and sometimes at random intervals, the certificate pass-through from AVG to the e-mail client program is broken. I get an error message from the mail client that the certificate is unknown and asks for an exception for each mail address. This has become quite annoying forcing me to keep my laptop turned on for longer hours just to avoid this problem.
Sometimes a computer restart will fix the problem but at other times it will not. The symptom I see in the mail client program is that all IMAP folders are no longer subscribed. When this first started happening I would have to delete then reinstall at least one of the IMAP mail accounts for all fo them to be restored. Often this would be Gmail with its OATH2 requirement. However reinstalling just one address would restore all connections.
After some experimentation I found that turning AVG off while the computer is on, then doing a system restart, would reset everything. I would still have the warning that the certificate was not known but after clicking on the exception things would be OK. It appears that AVG is working and it will stop ail threats when encountered.
I have contacted customer support for the various mail clients that are displaying this and they have all pointed to AVG as the issue. They do not plan on taking any action.
The mail clients that have tohis issue is Thunderbird (occasionally), Fossamail (occasionally) and Betterbird (almost always). Betterbird is an enhanced version of Thunderbird so the engine is the same. Any differences are only with the user interface for the most part.
I am wondering if others have experienced this and if there is a solution? I like AVG and have used it for some time now but this may become a deal breaker. Suggestions? Solutions?

I've attached a screen shot of the certificate error. I did perform the REPAIR function first. After a restart and attempt to launch BetterBird (same as Thunderbird) this error popped up that ther ewas an issue with the certificate. I then selected the exception option since clicking on the 'get certificate' option never works. Often I have to perform this exception for every mail account in this program. This also happens to one other mail client that I have.
