Have you tried to reinstall AVG Cleaner and check the status?

I installed Cleaner on my Android phone as part of my Ultimate subscription, but it doesn’t appear to work properly. Whenever it comes up with a message to manage unnecessary processes it gives me the option to force stop selected apps, but although it seems to go through the motions no apps are ever stopped. I’m running Android 11 on a Redmi 9 with MIUI 12.5.1

Hello Bruce, 

Thank you for the screenshots. We suggest you to do a app reset, which will reset the configuration to its default settings. To do so, please navigate to the location mentioned below.

Open Device Settings -> Apps/Application Management -> AVG Cleaner-> Storage -> Tap on clear cache and clear data -> Force stop the app. 

Restart your device and check for the status.

Hi Veeramani 
I did that with the exception of force stopping it, the reason being that the force stop X was greyed out. Also when I run the Boost > Force Stop option, it's noticeable that the Force Stop X is also greyed out on all the apps I'm trying to stop. I guess this must be an OS thing? I'm running MIUI Global 12.5.1 (on a Redme 9 phone). Is this something AVG Cleaner simply can't deal with?
