AVG Cleaner

A perplexing issue with AVG Cleaner that has occurred with the latest version.

When performing a quick clean using AVG Cleaner an issue associated with settings is frustrating IE.

If “Settings” In “App Lock” is enabled (green) then, when performing a Quick Clean with the “Hidden Caches” check box ticked generates a message requesting access authorization for every app that is being checked by AVG Cleaner. The only way out of this predicament is to go back into AVG Antivirus → Explore → App Lock and dissable “Settings”. Once this is done AVG Cleaner performs the Quick Clean → Hidden Caches clean up without delay.

Would be good if AVG could resolve this issue about having to “disable & then re-enable“ “Settings” in the App Lock feature.

That does sound like a bug or an unintended interaction between App Lock and AVG Cleaner. It seems App Lock is treating Cleaner’s access to app cache/settings as a protected action, causing repeated authorization prompts. Until AVG addresses it, disabling Settings in App Lock before running Hidden Caches cleanup is a practical workaround. I’d recommend reporting it to AVG Support with your app versions and Android version so they can investigate and hopefully fix it in a future update.
