And also did you try removing the AVG Antivirus Free from the Control Panel?

Our PC has been out of action over Christmas due to AVG using up 100% of disc space.
Attempts to uninstall avg free using avg clear have failed. There is no message, only a green oscillating bar (loading symbol?)
Our computer is operating very slowly, but we have been trying avg clear for three days now.
We have Windows 10.
If anyone can advise us we would be grateful

Yes, the AVG Clear download was logged in as the administrator.
Yes, we attempted to remove AVG using the uninstall option on the control panel with no result.
Al, we' request you to boot your PC in safe mode and try to run AVG Clear tool.
If the issue with the tool persists, please remove the AVG folders from C drive manually when you are in safe mode and restart the PC normally.
That should remove AVG completely.
That seems to work. The avg clear said specifically not to do that. Try everything once.
