I share your concerns and frustration regarding the AVG moveit data breach. The delayed notification is indeed unsettling, and the lack of transparency about the specific information exposed raises valid questions about AVG's handling of user data.
It's crucial for AVG to provide a comprehensive and transparent account of the breach, detailing the nature of the compromised information and when they became aware of it. Users deserve a clear understanding of the extent of the impact on their personal data.
Your apprehension about providing more personal information for breachguard is reasonable, given the initial breach. AVG should prioritize rebuilding trust by addressing these concerns and implementing robust measures to prevent future breaches.
I hope AVG takes swift action to address these issues and communicates effectively with affected users, prioritizing transparency and user trust.

Like many other users here I have also received an email from AVG advising my data has been compromised by the moveit data breach.
Let's just clarify this point, AVG HAS FAILED TO PROTECT MY PERSONAL DATA AND IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR IT BEING HACKED, STOLEN, LEAKED AND SOLD.

You have alluded in your email this breach occurred earlier in the year, yet you have waited until October to advise me? Why did you wait so long to advise your customers?

You further advise 'some limited personal information of yours was exposed on the dark web'.
This is in not an acceptable explanation. You need to advise exactly what information you have allowed to be leaked on the dark web, and, when you became aware of it?
Is the dark web the only platform you are monitoring for the breached data? What about other platforms that can trade this type of information?
I'm sure I don't need to tell you to pass this information to me personally and NOT through this forum. And by the way this is the (community forum) only way I can reach out and contact you about this issue as your support contact section is currently not available.

You have offered a free 6 month subscription of breachguard to help monitor my personal information on the dark web. breachguard requires me to enter MORE personal information into your systems, you have already failed to protect my data, why should I trust you with more?

Looking forward to your attempt to resolve this issue.
