AVG crashed PC completely

I was personalizing my friend's computer and noticed that AVG was totally out of date (2014). She wanted it updated, and only wanted to use the free version. I tried downloading and installing the free 2017 version, but of course had to also uninstall the 2014 version first. (It told me I had to.) This took a while, but finally, AVG said I had completed the uninstall and it told me to reboot. It never rebooted, so I manually turned the computer on. The computer has never turned on since. Correction: The tower makes a bunch of noise, the Windows icon comes on the screen, but then blankness. I have TRIED following instructions from other posts about this same topic, but pressing F8 while the windows logo is on screen does not work. Holding down the Windows logo and pressing F8 does not work. Pressing F12 doesn't work. Pressing Control-Alt-Delete doesn't work. Nothing works. I cannot believe your product just killed an otherwise perfectly good computer. What do I do to fix this? PLEASE DO NOT JUST TELL ME TO START IT IN SAFE MODE.

Hello Cass,

I understand how this must be upsetting.
I request you to try AVG Rescue CD as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-use-AVG-Rescue-CD and let us know the status.
Thank you.
