AVG Crashes Acronis True Image

It seems that there is more going on here than meets the eye. I have a scheduled daily scan at 6 am, when I am usually asleep, and every day, TrueImage is crashing shortly afterwards. I have run additional scans manually, and they have also crashed TrueImage. However, I disconnected my PC from the Net overnight and shut down AVG (which subsequently confirmed it had not run the scan), but TrueImage still crashed (I ran a scan as soon as I got up). I do not believe there should be anything else happening at that time, and I cannot see anything in the event logs (at least as far as I can understand them) to explain what else is happening. BTW, Acronis Active Protection is disabled.

Hello Gordon,
We will look into it. Are you able to access Acronis TrueImage without any issues when AVG is disabled?
Please refer this https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus article to disable AVG and check the status.

Not so fast. When a program crashes every time AVG runs, whether scheduled or manual, it is not credible to claim that AVG is not implicated. However, I did as you asked, and TrueImage again crashed, but at a totally different time. I then reinstalled AVG and ran a scan, at which point TrueImage kept running. Evidently my copy of AVG was corrupted, but it was at least partially responsible for the crashes. I will monitor the situation, and if the problem reappears, I'll be back.

AVG Internet Security is crashing Acronis TrueImage's non-stop backup every time it runs, but I cannot find any relevant logs. I have excluded the back-up drive from the scans. What else do I need to do to stop this?
