Hello,
I just gave it another try after updating the program and the signatures, and it seems that the problem is not reproducible anymore.
Interestingly, the program (as I originally downloaded it) was already newer than what the update screen said today, meaning that somehow the definitions seem to have been causing the problems.
This gave me and the users of my program quite some headaches and it cost me and the test team quite some time and effort to resolve! I sincerely hope you will manage not to break other (innocent) programs in the future.
Hello,
I'm not sure whether this is the best place to ask, but I'll try.
Since some time in February, my program is reported to be crashing on multiple customer computers if AVG or AVAST are installed. The program was working for years with no issues, so I suppose this must have something to do with some recent modification to AVG. Various Windows versions are affected, as well as various versions of my program.
Technically, every time a file open dialog is instantiated, my application crashes. As I said, this can definitely be brought into connection with the AVG being installed. Uninstalling AVG fixes the problem.
I think this must have something to do with not 100% correctly behaving shell extension AVG (and AVAST) are installing.
I am happy to support you with further information, if that would help you find the issue.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards
Alex Pozgaj.
