Was there any more information regarding this situation?
I have just purchased three Toshiba Satellite Radius L10W-B notebooks running Win10 for my children at school and all three have crashed in the same manner. I have done multiple restores on them all and it seems nothing I do will allow AVG free to run. I have uninstalled the Mcaffe product with the win 10 software uninstall as well as the mcaffe removal tool and sometimes after several days the crash happens at other times it is on the first reboot. I have updated win10 and tried obvious fixes but no go. Each experiment that I do takes hours to restore to factory settings and I am running out of time because the notebooks are required for schoolwork. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

I have exactly the same issue. Just bought new Desktop PC.

OS: Windows 10 installed from scratch (no 3rd party antiviruses, firewalls etc.)
AVG: AVG Ultimate.
CPU: i7-6700
RAM: 32
SSD: 128 GB - system drive
HDD: 1TB - another drive

I can install AVG Ultimate without any problem but then OS fails after the first reboot.
Tried to trace the issue - it happens immediately after installing AVG Ultimate.
Tried a few times but received the same result - Windows 10 fails at the next reboot as soon as you installed AVG.

Tried to use all tools from Zen bunch - the same issue.
Tried to remove AVG with AVG Uninstall tool and re-install AVG from scratch - it doesn't help.
Getting exactly the same issue after the first reboot as soon as you installed AVG.

Please don't apologize for the inconvenience caused but give me a solution how to fix it.

I ahve just experienced the same problem with AVG Zen and Win 10 installed an an Acer TC-603. AVG Basic Free has been running on all my machines for 5-6 years. Now I buy the AVG Ultimate and it crashed the PC! When I tried to uninstall AVG it put my PC into a loop and it would not restart thereafter. I have had to use the Recovery disc I made wipe the PC to get it to work again!

This caused some pretty major panic in our house over the last couple days. lol
My son has an MSI Apache Pro and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the blue screen of death came up (Windows 10), and there was literally nothing we could do. Had to reformat to get it going again.
This computer has been running Free AVG for just over a year now, and I have no idea why this is happening now. We reformatted, and as soon as we install Free AVG and reboot, we get the blue screen of death and an AVG error. (I'm so sorry I didn't write it down. It could verify a file and wouldn't start Windows.)
If I had gotten this error msg a couple days ago, it would have saved a lot of stress and time. At least now we know what's causing the problem. Won't reinstall AVG now because I tried 4 - 5 times and it crashes us every.single.time.
So disappointed. We've been using Free AVG for a lot of years. Would love to continue using it if there was some way to fix this problem. :-\

(Perhaps this is the universe telling me I've been using Free AVG long enough....lol)

Hi,

Does anyone experience laptop crashes after installing AVG, just bought a laptop surface pro3 (i7 processor),  AVG installs OK, but after I re start laptop it crashes , forcing me to reset laptop to original conditions (painful!)… does AVG is compatible with windows10? or is windows trick not allowing AVG?

Hello Ron,
We apologize for the inconvenience. The AVG Ultimate works fine with all the Windows computer, this issue might have caused, if the old traces of AVG Free program caused some conflict issue. You will be able to install and use AVG Ultimate without any issue after you completely remove all the traces of AVG free from your computer.
Thank you

I have exactly the same issue.  Brand new Acer laptop, installed AVG ultimate (Internet security and tuneup), I go to reboot, hangs for ages on Windows is updating before shutting down eventually then when it reboots it goes into recovery mode.   I followed this several times and determined that it is a great being the last thing installed and having tune tuneup which seems to be causing the issue.

tried using the Acer Windows 10 (which is full of bloat ware ) and then resorted to clean windows 10 install… Still experienced the same issue.

I have  avg pro and downloaded the "zen" full program… it installs ok, and updates itselfs ok,… when re -start laptop it takes me to repair mode  (windows couldn't start and couldn't fix it y itself), the repair mode is to reset laptop to original state. Loosing all data and installed software… for the moment I un installed AVG until I get a new release?,  could you guys check into this? or what could AVG did to the windows10 register to cause this failure?

Hello Arturo, sorry to hear that. Yes AVG programs are compatible with Windows 10. Please have a look at this link: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=AVG-compatibility-with-Windows-10 . May I know which AVG program you have installed on the Windows Surface Pro?

I tried reinstalling AVG internet security after resetting to default settings and same thing occurred - pc will not boot , says repairing and then cannot diagnose and all to do is reset to factory settings

You are most welcome, John.
Thank you so much for understanding and we appreciate the effort in trying our AVG.

Thank you for your reply. I assume it is Pet Com you have replied to. As I have indicated it is the free version of AVG. I have used this programme in its various forms for many years. It is the latest version that is available for download from your website. The notebooks are working at present because I have NOT installed the AVG programme since resetting them to factory settings.

Had a similar issue with my new Surface 3 that came with Win 10 on it.

When I got the Surface I installed AVG Free and all was fine

Had to do a reset reinstalling windows due to a diaplay issue.  After that I reinstalled AVG, but then when restarted it would not boot going into recovery / diagnostic mode.  Did another reset / reinstall and all would be fine until installed AVG then it would not boot when restarted.

Went into the bios and turned off 'Secure Boot Control' and it would then boot up with AVG installed.

Multiple AVG reinstalls and OS resets and same issue remained whenever I installed AVG

Then I thought about BIOS updates

Ran Windows Update which had some updates including a BIOS one.  Once these were installed I could turn 'Secure Boot Control' back on in the BIOS and it would boot fine.

Touch wood it looks like either the BIOS update or one of the other updates fixed it

Hopefully it will continue to stay that way = )

Hello Arturo.
I appreciate your efforts in fixing the issue on your own. Please feel free to reach us back for any further assistance.
Thank you.
