Hello Charlie,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Could you please let us know the name of the AVG product you have installed in your pc? We request you to add exception using the following article http://avgread.me/18WB2dg . If you still face the same issue, please do contact us back, we are more happy to help you with it. Thank you.
AVG Gurus,
Bumping this back up. I am having the same issue when trying to add exceptions for AVG free on Win 10 Pro x64. AVG wont respond when trying to choose a type of exception from the drop down menu or crashes hard when when trying to manually edit an exception already in the list. Bottom line, there is no way for me to add any exceptions in AVG without the program crashing.
Please do not send me an email but rather post the solution here for the community, as this seems to be a recurring issue/bug in AVG for Windows 10 x64 .
Hello Old Newbie,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused, We suggest you to reinstall your AVG program. Please remove AVG traces using AVG Remover Tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After running AVG Remover, you may need to manually uninstall any remaining AVG applications and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then install your program by downloading from http://www.avg.com/us-en/download .If the issue persists, we suggest you to contact our senior technicians by following the instructions in the email we have just sent to your email address. Once you connect with them, our senior technicians will be able to identify the exact issue and will be able to find alternate solution. Thank you.
Hi,
I seem to have the same problem on several win 10 64 computers.

when ever i try to add exceptions using the article as described here http://avgread.me/18WB2dg GUI hangs the moment i try to browse for a program to add to the list.
Was there ever a solution for this issue found?
Hi.
I'm trying to add some exceptions to exclude some files and folders from the analysis but every time I try, AVG freezes after selecting the file/folder.
The path box stays empty and if I try clicking on anything it says AVG isn't responding
I'm on Windows 10 x64, using AVG 2016
Does anyone have any idea what to do ?
Thanks
