Hello Helena,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Does your AVG program detect same 'threat' name every time? Are you using a latest version(2016) of your AVG program? Please update your AVG program (http://avgread.me/1TgZWYq) once and let us know the status. Thank you.
Hello Helena,
Thank you for providing the screenshot.
We really appreciate your efforts.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Upon checking the screenshot I see that the threat found is "XPL/Gen.DJ.1989_19 and it is not mentioned as "Poweliks" as discussed in this post.
Do you get this threat removed popup every time when you open your browser or when you turn on your PC?
I've tried everything in this entire thread and my browser still gets hijacked and AVG keeps detecting XPL/Gen.DJ.1989_19… PLEASE help . THanks, Rich
I have AVG ULTIMATE. I'm having the same problem as others with POWELIKS. AVG alert keeps popping up about every 30 seconds or so saying the threat (POWELIKS) was found and removed. How do I get this pop up alert to disappear?
Thank you

I'm having the same problem–Poweliks removed but every 60 seconds being told that AVG removed the threat. Since individual emails are being sent, the solution isn't on this site.

Hello Angel,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Could you please send the screen shot of the scan window and path of the threat?
We will be able to analyse it and assist you better.
Thank you.
I have a similar problem. Nothing should be this complicated. I'm glad I didn't purchase this.
Okay, so, how does the tool remove this virus? Could an admin simply post an answer here instead of emailing idviduals privately? The link to the tool doesn't give any explanations on how to actually use the tool.
I'm getting exactly the same problem as those above, and none of the removal tools mentioned above have helped at all. The 'Threat removed' pop up is ruining all the functionality of my laptop. AVG please help asap.
Hello
Re: Threat name: Found Poweliks
Every 5 seconds I'm receiving a message that a threat has been found and removed. How can I turn this off/stop it please ?
I have no idea - I'm visually impaired.
I can post in some screenshots - after all, I now have about 30 of them
I'm also having the exact same issue. AVG pops up a message stating that it was removed roughly every minute. I have tried running the AVG poweliks remover, it doesn't find the virus. I tried running the ESET removal tool and it also says that I'm not infected yet AVG keeps popping up with the message.
