Hi Balasubramanian - my computer was 100% working fine and the AVG disk scan notification came up again and I scanned one of the disks and it went fine then it asked to scan the OS disk and didn't technically erase the OS, but changed all the files to .lnk files and rendered everything useless and I am unable to download or execute anything and thus your team was unable to remote in and help and told me to get a new OS installed.
I called 800-423-1414 around 7pm on 6/4/19 after the AVG incident and was hung up on after 20 minutes and no return call to my number I provided. Then I called back to 844-234-6038 and worked with the tech for 50 minutes and that was when I was told there is no resolution and nothing they can do. So I called Customer Care at 844-259-8811 and requested a location or tech to help me and they said I had to do it at my own expense and I am doing so and will seek reimbursement thereafter. Thank you

Hello Mike,
We are sorry to know about the situation of your PC.
We are sure that AVG disk doctor scan will not erase the operating system.
Disk Doctor scans your internal and external drives for disk errors caused by corrupted files, then offers to repair any found issues.
May I ask what message you when you turn on your PC?
We couldn't find any case record regarding your contact with us?
Could you mention the exact AVG support phone number that you dialed?
Pop-up to run the disk scan came up for two disks that weren’t scanned and haven’t been in a while. Everything has been fine and one disk gets scanned OK and then asks for the operating system and the scan wipes the Operating System out and they cannot remote in or fix it and now it is at my expense I have been told and at a local technician. I have to have a new operating system reinstalled. I have a case in with customer care and waiting to hear if they will reimburse me for such a cost. I’ve been a loyal customer for over three years now and the one time I have needed them they seem to have fell through on me. I will repost if resolved, but thoroughly unimpressed so far.

Please accepts our apologies.
We could see that you have contacted the AVG GO which is our Premium technical support. They will assist you with any issue regardless to AVG.
If you wish, we can offer you our free remote support to resolve the issue.
Awaiting your response.
Thank you and we did try all the levels of support, but AVG changed all the programs/files to lnk's and the only think the computer could do was get to the internet, but could not execute any files or remote in and AVG doesn't have any local infrastructure I can visit to remedy the situation. They could not help because they couldn't remote in. We tried the different levels of support and they checked with the help resources and they said I had to go for outside help. Thank you
