We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Activation steps are different for license purchase on Google Play and for those covered in the "unlimited" packages.
So the activation steps are:
- License purchase on Google Play - Go to AVG > Upgrade > Menu (3 dots in top right corner) > Restore Purchase > data will be loaded from the Google account and AVG will be activated.
- Activate with AVG Internet Security or Ultimate license - Go to AVG > Menu > AVG Account > login with the AVG My Account and product will be activated within few moments.
I bought AVG Ultimate 2018 at Fry's and am having the same issue. I have sent and received several emails with Support (2 different support groups) still with no resolution. The support site is out of date on the instructions as well. I have used AVG for years and have always liked it - until now. The fact that there is only email support for mobile devices is one major problem. It always takes at least a day to get a reply from any of the support groups. I think it is time to move to Kapersky and give up on AVG since their support is pretty much non-existent for mobile devices.

I've bought AVG app for Android by Play Store, but, when I log with my google account, the app still on free. I've talked with Play Store, and they said that my account are OK, that they received the payement. Can you help me?
Agree with you Larry. AVG support for Android is pathetic. Email only shows that it is not a priority for them and there seems to be a number of complaints about it. I bought unlimited to get my phone covered. Wish I hadn't now
