Yes, I did purchase AVG from your website. Are you suggesting that the AVG software is incompatable with the Windows XP Operating System? That is the only program I've downloaded to this computer in many years. In fact, I used AVG on this computer up to about 3 years ago. However, I would not be surprised if it isn't compatable since the program I want to continue to use is not compatable with Windows 10. Further, the newer versions of that program do not recognize the data files from the version I have, so I would not have access to historical files. I'll be surprised if GeekSquad can sort out this Windows XP issue.
I downloaded a 60 day trial for my ancient backup netbook with Microsoft XP Dec 13th. I previously used AVG on this computer without any problems. On Dec 14 the computer booted ok but was very sluggish. So attempted to reboot and the computer failed. I've tried all the options in the safe mode and can' t even get a C:/ prompt. All I get is a list of errors that allude to AVG. I appears this computer is toast.
What do you suppose went wrong? Can you suggest a solution?

Thank you for writing back to us, Paul.
We regret to inform you that the AVG Internet Security/Antivirus Free programs are no longer compatible with Windows XP & Vista Operating systems.
We request you to contact a local technician to get this issue sorted. Also, we recommend that you upgrade the operating system of your computer to either Windows 7, 8.1 or 10.
Thank you for understanding in advance!
Thank you the screenshot.
Did you get the download link from the AVG website?
We could see that you are unable to perform safe mode or any operations in the computer. In this case, we request you to contact the local technician and sort out the issue.
We suspect that the incompatible program installed in the computer might cause this issue.
Thank you for understanding.
