AVG Driver Update for Realtek Soundcard: Now No Sound

I have the same problem with the exception of You Tube Videos also stopped working. I guess i will have to contact remote technician so that he/she can access my PC and correct the problem.

Same here, I paid for the full version and now no audio and everything I've been told to do isn't working

I had the same problem. After a lot of timely attempted fault finding  I then decided to manually download the latest Realtek 64 bit driver and luckily the installation process removes the old driver. The subsequent update resolved the problem which is hardly a selling point for the AVG product. I also had a failed upgrade for my AMD Radeon graphics drivers which I also had to manually upgrade myself. I am seriously thinking about uninstalling the AVG product.

I bought AVG Driver Updater to update my drivers on a Dell Desktop with a Realtek Sounddcard.  All went amazingly well, except I seem to have lost all sound.  It happened after I updated my drivers, so I went back and restored the audio portion, but to no avail.  Dead silence.  I tested my speakers on a laptop, and they are working just fine.  I've run the battery of Microsoft support options for how to fix sound problems, but still to no avail.  Is this really a driver issue, or did my Realtek sound card just happen to wig out on me, permanently, right when I was updating drivers on my desktop?
