I actually updated the driver on wondows, but here is the screenshot.
screenshot of avg re: virus on download via driver updater
As said, I did get the updated driver, not using avg driver updater, but thru graphics, properties, update driver.

Using the AVG Driver Updater, has now tried 3 times to download an Intel HD Graphics 4600 driver, and each time gets stuck; then, AVG antivirus pops up, and tells me that "slimwareutilities" contains a virus which name I forgotten.
How can it be that AVG AntiVirus product goes to a site that attempts to download malware? What use is THAT?

Hello Susan,

Thank you for being patient.
I request you to visit this link: https://www.virustotal.com/ and click on "Upload and scan file"
Browse for the path where AVG showed as threat detected and select the .exe file.
After uploading, the scan results will be shown on the website, please provide the scan result screenshot and the URL after scan results displayed.
