No, did not fix. 
Can i just cancel the paid AVG and go back to free?  I never had this problem with the free version.
I work on battery and move my laptop from plugin to plugin a lot and this power level change drives me crazy.

Please someone tell me how to remove this!!! My laptop has a loose cord hole and every time the cord gets a little loose, the screen dims and it tries to switch to economy plan, and it takes minutes before I can get back to work properly.  I just want it GONE.

We regret for the inconvenience caused to you. Please follow the steps below to turn off AVG PC Tuneup switching to economy mode automatically.
1. Open AVG PC Tuneup.
2. Click on Settings and select Economy mode in the left pane.
3. Then click on "Open the configuration dialog".
4. At the very bottom on the configuration settings window, you should see an option called "Turn on Economy mode when switching from power to battery supply".
5. Un-check that option if it is checked to stop AVG PC Tuneup enabling Economy mode automatically.

I have the basic paid plan - $39/year
I neer had this problem with the free version.

I want to turn off AVG ecomonoy power mode automatic switching.
