OMG. This is my exact problem. AVG…can't you fix this?
I refer to AVG Automatic Maintenance of AVG PC Tune-up.
Hello Pierre, sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. May I know which AVG product are you referring to?
I installed the free trial version of AVG. When it did an optimization it reported that it had disabled all background programmes not currently in use. When I tried to get sound from my PC via the docking station, it would no longer work. I tried every sound setting available in the control panel, to no avail. Then I uninstalled AVG, but I cannot get my sound back. What should I do?

Virginia, you can also go to control panel, then system, then device manager. Click on sound, then right click on the icon of your sound driver and uninstall it. Reboot your computer.

Thank you.
Hello Pierre. Sorry to hear that. If you had not uninstalled AVG PC TuneUp then would have suggested to try restore changes made by it. Now I would suggest you to go to device manager and try rollback driver option of your sound driver or uninstall and reinstall it.
