AVG email scanner set up to check my "gmail.com" emails

Harold, follow the article that was sent above. In addition, you need to know simple tips for safety. It’s best to change your gmail password every few months. You should never give your password out to anyone and if you really have to give it out, change it as soon as possible. Treat your email as if it’s your safety deposit box. You wouldn’t give the keys to your safety deposit box to just anyone and you should be even more cautious with your email account.
The 2-Step Verification is an additional layer of protection for your Gmail Account. This is especially important if you look at your email on public computers. (but i think adding a phone number is not intended to increase security of your account. Adding a phone number is a convenience for when you are locked out due to whatever circumstances). If you lose access, you can also check this article https://www.cleverfiles.com/howto/google-account-recovery.html Good luck!

Hello, I been using AVG Internet Security 2015 and previous products for AT LEAST 12 years. This is my very first attempt to try to get the email scanner set up to detect and protect my gmail emails… coming and going. I cant seem to get it to set up correctly. Im 64 yrs old and kinda knowlegeable about my computer. I kinda need some step by step instructions cause in my old age either everyone now speaks so fast than I can barely make out what they are saying or, my brain is getting slower each day. HAHA. But Im really getting frustrated with setting up my email scanner. I have Windows 10 PRO, 4GB of memory, dual core CPU. Is there a website I can go to that shows step by step instructions how to set up the email scanner to detect and protect my gmail email account Any help will be so much appreciated.  Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge… Tom

Sorry it took me awhile to get back to you, I forgot my password and had to reset. I do have an email program installed and use it probably about 95% of the time. Its called 'IncrediMail 2.0". It works fine with no problems. I very seldom ever go to the website to see my emails, but when I do, it works fine… Thanks for anything you can let me know, Im sure that its all my fault or something easy my old brain hasnt thought about… Tom
