Hi,
AVG personal email scanner has stopped working since an update yesterday.
I have updated again this morning and the problem still persists.
Connections to SMTP and POP3 servers are timing out.
The email client Thunderbird can connect directly to the SMTP and POP3 servers.
AVG internet security is up to date; AVG version 2015.0.6122
Repair installation, followed by update, has not fixed the problem.
Any suggestions?

After spending some more time seaching the forums, its seems we are not alone, AVG is aware of the problem and is working on it. Hopefully a fix will turn up soon.
2015.0.6122 personal email scanner looks to be the issue, other email clients also fail here when using AVG. They work ok when directly connected to the email server, bypassing AVG.
I have the same problem with Pegasus Mail. All my AVG email server settings are as they were and port settings in Pegasus Mail are still the same. For dome reason the latest update today was a repeat of an update yesterday. Yesterdays update did not cause a problem. My program is AVG Free Version 2015.0.6122.

AVG repair package worked for me:-

but I obviously had to reset all my clients to use AVG Email Scanner again!
