We apologize for the inconvenience caused. The issue might have occurred due to some traces left over from the previous version. Please follow the instructions below to remove the traces and to install the updated version of AVG Ultimate.
1. Download and run the AVG clear tool from the link: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe (NOTE: Select "No" when the tool prompts for restart in Safe Mode)
2. If the tool doesn't work, run the tool from the link: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
3. Once the PC is rebooted after running the tool, download and install the AVG Ultimate from the link: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Ultimate

Tried to open my AVG antivirus after a download / update on 2nd May 2017…refused to open. Attempted to remove the prog and re-install…will not un-install even with AVG Removal Tool…get the following error codes …0xe001f949 and 0xe0010002.
Any suggestions ?

Hi there…thankyou for the previous information…I have tried the solutions requested but without success…option 1 appeared to be successful in removing the program, however when I try to reload AVG the following fault code appears during the set up process 0xe001f949 and I am unable to go any further than this…any suggestions ?
