I tried AVG removal tool but to no effect.
I get the message when I try to manually update. The automatic updates seem to work but my screen still shows AVG Security stll needs computer and web updates.

Dave i had similar problems....at first...so i manually updated,then 'EVENTUALLY' AVG started to update automatically..........
I have started to use windows 10 and after apparently loading AVG successfully I now see a "Failed to Update" message. The message then states "Update has detexcted a running installation. Complete that installation before starting update." Suggests that web and computer systems are not fully protected.
Any thoughts, anyone?
No update, not able to reinstall - installation failed. AVG removal tool failed.
