AVG false positive

Hello Zbynek,

As per your advise, we have submitted the file for whitelisting now.
We hope that this produces a timely resolution.

Hello Alan,

Pls. note that we reported this using your online form almost TWO WEEKS ago. We've made contact too via Chat Support TWICE and both times, we were promised a reply via email within 24 hours. Still we have not received anything.

This is perplexing as other tools such as Avira and ESET have solved their false positives on us in just TWO business days. We were not even TRUSTe certified then.

This issue is disrupting our business so this is not a laughing matter for us.

We hope that AVG is as responsible in correcting false positives as other tools.

Hi Diana,
I regret to inform you that according to our Virus Analysis Specialists detection is correct.
Thanks

Hello Zbynek,

As mentioned, our product is both TRUSTe certified safe download and is Symantec whitelisted.

Upon further checking, it seems AVG is flagging our product because our code signing certificate is not properly being recognized. Using AVG ver. 9, we saw this message/warning: "the file is signed by an untrusted certificate, issued by generic.b45".

Note that our .exe DOES have a perfectly valid code signing certificate from COMODO. Earlier versions of our tool also used the same signing certificate. The only difference is that NOW we renewed it as the previous one expired.

Pls. check this again or tell us exactly what the issue is and how it can be fixed.
