AVG File In Use Error

I have exactly the same problem. Any Foxit pdf that I have saved lately cannot be erased/moved because "file is open in AVG antivirus". I don't have AVG antivirus installed, A search in my machine (PC Windows 10) does not find it, nor a look in the "Add or remove programs" module in Windows settings. .   I do have AVG Internet security, AVG PC tuneup and AVG Driver updated installed… These files are stuck on my desktop, and can't be removed or shifted. They will continue to grow

John,

We will certainly check with it. Could you share the screenshot http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot of that error message you received?

Do you have any sensitive/ personal information on that file such as Tax, card details or password etc.,? Are you able to delete that file when AVG is disabled temporarily?

Right click on AVG icon under system tray next to clock, turn off your Protection temporarily by clicking on Toggle bar.

I am trying to delete a PDF file and keep getting this message:  "File In Use.  The action can't be completed because the file is open in AVG Antivirus.  Close the file and try again."
I don't have the file open, why does AVG antivirus?  I have rebooted but still get the same error message.  How do I get AVG Antivirus to close the file?

Yes, that's fixed it for me.! Thank you.

Yes, I had turned off AVG protection but that did nothing.  I have had this happen several times recently with files that I tried to delete.  Screen shot of error message:
