This seems odd. It has happened more than once. Norton shouldn't be an issue.
My AVG Internet Security has recently (within the past week) started popping up all sorts of "Threat blocked!" messages, then taking hours to complete the scan. During that period I have to leave the AVG window open, which covers other open windows. If I close the window it merely reopens a minute later.
The latest seems to find the threat within Norton security. identified as being
"in…N360_22.5.0.124\CmnClnt\00006383.tmp
…(x86)\Norton 360\Engine\22.9.1.12\n360.exe"
What's this all about Why is it suddenly happening? And do I need to remove AVG to retake control of my computer?

I understand your concern. Please check if AVG and Norton program installed in your computer is up to date. If not, please update the same and check if that fix the issue.
