AVG Firewall and D-Link SharePort printer

Hello Doug, sorry to hear that. I really appreciate your efforts in trying adding the Ip address. In this case, I will have sent you the email with further instructions to be followed to get our additional support help to fix this issue. Please check for the email on spam or junk folders if it is not present in the inbox. Thank you.

I cannot connect to my network printer with the AVG firewall active. I have a local printer connected to a D-Link router. The printer is connected to the router via a USB port on the router. D-Link comes with a utility called SharePort that allows a PC to connect to the shared printer. If I have the AVG firewall running it will not connect to the SharePort printer. The SharePort utility shows the printer connected to the router, but when I try to connected to it via my computer it fails.

If I disable AVG Firewall it connects just fine. I tried using expert mode and putting the IP of the printer in the Whitelist but that didn't work either.

Here is what the log shows:

LOG ACTION: Blocked
USER: System
PID: 1392
DIRECTION: Out
PROTOCOL: UDP
REMOTE PORT: 49490
LOCAL PORT: 57431
REMOTE IP: 73.193.XXX.XXX <–(masked for security purposes)
LOCAL IP: 192.168.0.100
