AVG = AVG Internet security 2015 3 user paid.
Computers = Windows 7 64 bit pro x 3.
Network = Netgear DGND 3700v2 all computers on wired network.
Problem = 3-4 weeks ago, our network became blocked, no transfer between computers. I began the usual checks for the problem. When I got to AVG I found that the problem is being caused by AVG's firewall. I had to disable AVG firewall to allow networking between the 3 computers.
I contacted AVG support via on line chat. The issue was esculated and "kiran" remote accessed one of the work stations. he was able to change something (not sure what) that allowed networking between that work station and the other two, but at a very low transfer rate.
Basically, if I try to transfer a file from one computer to another, if the firewall is active on the sending computer, transfer speed is 350kbs. If I disable the firewall, the transfer speed is unimpeded, transfering a 153megabyte file in 3-4 seconds. I have tried this test across all three computers and the results are consistent and checked with a software lans speed test.
So, what do I need to change/do to AVG firewall to enable full data transfer? Currently I have disabled firewall on all three computers to allow normal operations.
