Hello, Teresa.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Was the update issue resolved upon reinstalling the AVG app? Please provide us with a screenshot ( http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot ) of the error message that you receive when you try to login. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions to upload the screenshot.
- Once you uninstall all AVG apps make sure the "AVG" account located in your "device´s settings - Accounts" disappeared. (this may differ based on os version and device type, examples: Settings - Cloud and Accounts - Accounts or Settings - Accounts)
Take a screenshot where is visible that AVG account is missing
3) Delete the device from your MyAVG account.
- log in to your My AVG Account - my.avg.com
- click on the device with the issues
- click on "Settings" button
- click on "Delete from account"
4) Re-install all AVG apps and sign back
This will fully reset the communication between the device and the portal. This steps will help to solve the issue.
You need to press Power and Volume down key to take screenshot on your mobile device. We are here if you need further help.
I have an android phone (Samsung S4 mini) on which I had AVG anti virus installed, it kept saying virus definitions out of date, I tried updating and it said they were up to date, but still getting the warning. So I uninstalled and reinstalled, I now can't connect to my AVG account it keeps saying Authorization failed. Anyone know what is wrong please?
Thanks
Great thanks now working.
NB screenshot on my phone is power and home buttons not Power and volume down.
Thank you for updating the status.
Glad to know that your issue has been resolved.

Sorry to hear that the issue persists, Teresa.
I understand your difficulties with the PRO activation as you receive Authorization Failed error.
Please follow the steps below to re-install the app which will fix this issue:
1) Uninstall all AVG apps installed in your device. To uninstall the AVG AntiVirus just follow these steps:
- go to your mobile device´s settings
- go to "Security"
- go to "Device administrators"
- uncheck/deactivate the "AVG AntiVirus"
- now go back to device settings
- go to "Apps" or "Application manager" (depends on the Android version)
- pick "AVG AntiVirus"
- uninstall "AVG AntiVirus
Repeat this procedure to uninstall any other AVG app.
I do not have email on my phone so am not able to send a screenshot and the instructions you sent relate to creating a screenshot on a PC not an android phone.
No it is not solved as after reinstalling when I try logging in to activate AVG on my phone the error message that comes up is a white box with the wording:
Connection
Authorization failed. Sorry.
OK
