I just installed AVG Antivirus on my Kindle using Fire OS 7.3.21 and it is working just fine. Even connected it to my subscription. I would like to try also AVG Cleaner, but I worry about maybe damaging my Kindle's file system with that. But the Antivirus app works great! Especially since I am installing lots of apps from APK websites, I really want to have good and reliable antivirus on my Kindle.
OK, thanks for that. But its annoying to buy a 10 device product licence that advertises with a tag line of "Whatever your device, we've got you covered" to then find that 2 out of our 6 devices are not protected! Definately a case of miss-selling so others who may read this, just be aware!
I won't pester any further as the are more important issues for us all at present.
When I renewed Internet security I was told that it would run on Kindle Fire HD since it has an Android base. Read this fella and make it more simple for you and for us:
"How to install a VPN on Kindle Fire - Ray Walsh" just automate this for us to download???
Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately its not very helpful. I asked much the same question 2 years ago and was told at that time "we are working on it" and that a version would be available 'shortly'.
Given the number of Kindle Fire tablets sold wordwide (> 10million) and that it uses a modified Android OS its surprising that AVG cannot sort this out and make a version available. There are plenty of other Anti-virus Apps that are compatable with the Amazon Fire so why cannot AVG manage it?
Hi Guy,
We're glad to clarify this for you.
The product in your account can be used on 10 devices - Windows, MAC & Android.
It cannot be used on Kindle. Reason being the operating system of the device doesn't allow installing AVG.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
I have an AVG subscription which can be used across multiple devices. I have it on my laptops and phone but cannot find a version on tha Amazon App Store compatable with my Kindle
Any suggestions welcome!

Guy, we'll certainly take this as your valuable product feedback and forward it to our developers.

Hi Barb.
We've gone through the article you provided and see there was a suggestion to install a 3rd Party Open VPN which we do not recommend or support. We'd once again like to inform that AVG Secure VPN runs on pure Android only and it is not compatible with Fire OS devices.
Thanks for replying.
