Kenny,
We request you to use AVG Clear tool to remove the traces of AVG and check if the issue persists. Refer this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to download and run AVG clear and remover tool. Note: Try AVG Clear first.

AVG Free has suddenly stopped working on my HP laptop running Windows 7 Pro (64-bit). Since updating to 18.2.3046, AVG now displays the error "You are not protected" with a "Fix Now" button. Clicking on the button does NOTHING.
When I manually update, the Virus Definitions update fine, but the Program section has the "Update" button greyed-out!?
I've used Windows - Control Panel to Uninstall, and the problem persists even after a Reboot and Reinstall from scratch. The newly downloaded and installed version of AVG Free starts with "You are not protected" error. Again, "Fix Now" does nothing when clicked.
I've also used the AVG Removal Tool to completely remove all traces of AVG, then downloaded AVG Free from the AVG site and reinstalled… same error "You are not protected" when it launches!
Any ideas?
"AVG Clear" resolved the issue, however it seems almost EVERY time there's a Program Update we have the same problems - only ever resolved by completely removing and resintalling from scratch. Strikes me there's a major flaw in your Beta-testing.
