AVG Free 2015 - Update Problem

Note - I received advice from AVG Online Suport to download the update manually and install it manually (see post from D Griffin below - July 25, 2015).  I hadn't seen it when I posted the question.  This fix worked perfectly and I am up and running again!  Hope that the automatic update problem gets fixed asap.  Thanks

OK Steve, Also for help on this issue please try install all Windows updates including Service pack 3 and let AVG know if it helps.

Steve, There is currently an issue with auto updating which is being investigated by AVG. Have a look @ this article (http://avgclick.me/UpdateAVG) [B. Updating AVG offline (from a local directory)]. With AVG Free use the update files from this webpage (http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download-update). Also for help on this issue please try install all Windows updates including Service pack 3 and let AVG know if it helps.

I am using Windows XP.  I have been using AVG Free 2015 without problem - last good update was 25/03/2015.  I have not used the computer since until today.  When the system automatically tried to update, I received "Update Failed. Sorry, we couldn't reach our update server. Please amke sure you are connected to the internet and try again."  I did this several times, then went to your support pages and did the following: - checked Proxy setting and deleted temporary update files; checked my firewall to ensure AVG was an authorized exception; repaired network connections; confirmed TCP/IP DNS settings correct; did the "change/repair" process via my control panel.Finally, i deleted the whole AVG file and reinstalled it.  Still same problem.  Any ideas?
